TIANJIN BLASTS DEATH TOLL RISES, POLICE CARRYING OUT THE EVACUATIONS

Death toll rose to 112, including 21 firemen, and more than 90 still missing from the massive warehouse explosions hitting north China’s Tianjin City Wednesday night, the rescue headquarters said Saturday.

Meanwhile, 721 others were hospitalized, including 25 critically wounded and 33 in serious condition.
Residents near the site of two giant explosions in a northern Chinese port city were being evacuated on Saturday over fears of spreading chemicals, the official Xinhua news agency said.
According to the Beijing News, armed police began carrying out the evacuations after sodium cyanide was found at the site, days after the blasts killed 85 people and triggered a fire authorities were still struggling to contain. (PNA/Xinhua)
